If you're looking for place to enjoy the clean air of Tehachapi, there are a number of beautiful parks and recreation areas throughout the community. From campgrounds to baseball diamonds and playgrounds to a lake for fishing, to a lovely park in the downtown area where you can picnic and watch the trains, Tehachapi has something for everyone.
Central Park (Philip Marx Park) is located in downtown Tehachapi at the intersection of Mojave and "E" Streets. This is a beautiful five-acre park filled with mature trees. Picnic tables, a playground, restrooms and a gazebo are available for your enjoyment. There is also a Scout Hall on the premises used for youth groups and special indoor events. For those looking for a more rustic setting, Tehachapi's Brite Lake Aquatic Recreation Area might suit your needs. Located at 22902 Banducci Rd, Brite Lake is a 90 acre campground open all year long. Hook-ups, tent sites, restrooms and showers are available and there are picnic pavilions and fishing. Swimming at Brite Lake is strictly prohibited.
